25 Years Ago: Bakers and confectioners had set up shop in Bradford Cathedral to put some dough into the buildings appeal fund. Linked to the harvest festival celebrations, master bakers had hoped to boost the appeals £500,000 target.
50 Years Ago: Laying the foundation stone for the new Provincial Building Society’s £1m headquarters, was the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Alderman Arthur Walton, joined by the society’s president, Mr. E. A. Gadie.
