25 years ago: A lorry carrying more than 4,500 hens caused chaos after it left the A650 Keighley road at Crossflatts, Bingley, and demolished a women's hairdressing salon, killing many of the birds and releasing hundreds of others into the road.
50 years ago: Vandalism in Bradford's parks and cemeteries was said to be on the increase, with council officials asking police to give special attention to Eccleshill Park, where plants had been pulled from borders, seats broken, and children's playground equipment damaged.
