25 years ago: Council planning bosses were set for crunch talks with developers over the future of Bradford's Wool Exchange, with a £2million scheme to turn the historic Victorian building into a modern shopping centre in doubt after two years of delays and legal snags.
50 years ago: Fast-moving thieves broke into Buttershaw Lane Working Men's Club in Bradford, getting away with £100 in cash, 1,000 cigarettes, and a £300 one-armed bandit, and also smashing billiard tables at the £45,000 club, which had only been open for four months.
