From the Telegraph & Argus of January 11, 1982...A three-year-old cat has been judged best foreign female by Cat World. Elsilrac Picketywitch, Pixie to her friends, is the pride and joy of owners June and Geoff Carlisle, of Allerton Road, Bradford. Pixie's breed, she is a pure black Siamese, has only recently been recognised for championship status and she is one of only a handful in the country to have gained awards.

From the Telegraph & Argus of January 11, 1957...Bradford men who helped to quell the Hong Kong riots in October disembarked from Britain's latest troopship, the Nevasa, at Southampton today. They were in a relief draft of 34 men. Among the men were National Service men Private A Dalby of Ringwood Road, Little Horton, and Private A Johnstone, of Westminster Terrace, Bradford.
