25 years ago: Firefighters were forced to evacuate five people from their back-to-back terraced homes on Ventnor Street, Bradford, after gale-force winds blew down connecting walls between the properties.
50 years ago: Jimmy Scoular, Bradford Park Avenue FC’s player manager, was suspended for 28 days and fined 20 guineas after his sending off in a match against Gillingham, the Football Association’s second-heaviest post-war ban.
