From the Telegraph & Argus of November 21, 1981...Bingley Rotaract club president Angus Williamson handed over a cheque for £750 to Heaton Royds School, Shipley. The money, which will be used to buy video recording equipment, was raised at a concert held in September in which Bingley concert pianist John Briggs took part. Representing the school were pupils Andrew Wilkinson, Kathryn Bell and Andrew Copeland.

From the Telegraph & Argus of November 21, 1956...Bradford has a young orchestra that will never be heard in public but every fortnight 45 players between 11 and 18 assemble in Carlton Grammar School to rehearse major works. They are voluntary and come from secondary and grammar schools in the Bradford area and their conductor is George Hankin.
