According to our reader, the above submitted picture, was possibly taken before the West Riding County Sunday Cup final when Whetley played against local rivals Bradford Moor, April, or May 1982. This was the first time the cup final had been contested between two Bradford sides and consequently was played at the Thackley Football Club ground before a crowd of around 1000. The match ended in a 2-2 draw after extra time.
