BRADFORD-based Throstle Nest Riding School are sending a dressage competitor and a quiz team to this weekend's prestigious Pony Club National Championships at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire.

Emily Hamilton and her pony Trevor have qualified for the novice dressage event, having won a local preliminary round and a second round at Northallerton.

She said: "I've had such good teaching at Throstle Nest. It really showed in the competition, so thanks very much to Abi Wheeler for the lessons."

Emily is also taking part in the Fagley Lane riding school's quiz team, which also comprises Harriet Pollard, Aurora Duffy and Anya Tate.

They had to learn about a range of horse-related topics and answer questions at area and regional events to qualify for the Championships.

Jeannette Wheeler, owner of Throstle Nest Riding School, said: "I am so pleased for all the girls.

"They have worked and competed hard and I hope they enjoy their weekend at the Championships.

"It is an achievement just to have qualified and I wish them every success!"
