Bradford Under-12s A team won all five of their matches at the weekend to top Division Two of the Yorkshire League and qualify for the finals day in two weeks.

They began with a victory over Thirsk.

Charlie Sorton was superb, putting in the best performance of the day.

Kez Cairns opened the scoring and Spike Johnston got the second to seal the points.

Driffield were routed in the next game, with Seb Shaw, Stewart (2), Jonhston (2), Cairns and Sorton all getting goals in another superb performance.

A slight change in formation did the trick as potential banana skin Ben Rhydding C were comfortably beaten.

Singleton was asked to play higher up to give Bradford an extra man in midfield and was a revelation.

Goals from Stewart (2), Johnston and Sorton saw the final scoreline 4-0.

Sheffield were seen off 5-0. A good goal from Stewart, with an amazing one-two passing move from the midfield, set the tone and Singleton was again excellent, scoring a simple goal.

Shaw got one and a quickfire Stewart brace completed his hat-trick.

Leeds was the toughest game of the day. They forced more shots on goal (four) than Bradford had allowed all day up to that point but a well-worked goal after five minutes sealed a 1-0 victory.

The Under-12 Boys B team won one and drew one of their matches at the weekend in Yorkshire League Division Four.

Logan Wood captained the team well and led by example, scoring goals and putting in lots of effort in the 4-0 win over Bingley.

Goalscorers were Wood and Alex Speck-Zolte.

Eve Gabriel made some good saves and Flora and Bob Taylor-Boyden were excellent in defence as Kirklees provided stiff opposition in the second game, which ended 1-1.

Bradford Badgers beat Huddersfield 5-2.

Captain Daniel Stubley opened the scoring with an excellent penalty corner.

Kieran Feeley chipped the keeper for 2-0 and Ben Bateson and Stubley controlled midfield by harrying and distributing well.

Feeley added a third goal before Huddersfield pulled one back on the half hour after forcing two penalty corners in quick succession.

Stubley and Feeley added two quick goals as Bradford went in at the break 5-1 up before Huddersfield added a second-half consolation.

* Bradford under-14 players Ben Bateson, Mathew Stubley and Ethan Hodson are playing for Halifax this season and have propelled them into the end-of-season play-offs. They won two and lost one at Brigshaw this weekend, finishing the regular season second in the Yorkshire League.
