A field of 970 turned out for the Dewsbury 10k on a damp and breezy Sunday morning.
Neil Renault (Edinburgh Harriers) was the fastest of the day, while local individual performances of note came from Bradford Airedale’s Matt Nowell (46th), Darren Burnley (Pudsey Pacers, 54th), Mark Knowles (Keighley & Craven AC, 66th) and Charles Lines (Bradford Grammar School, 73rd).
Alyson Dixon (Chester le Street AC) was first woman to finish, in 19th position overall.
Sally Morley (Ilkley Harriers) finished 118th, helping her team to an impressive fourth place.
Alongside Jane Bryant and Jann Smith, Morley helped Ilkley achieve an aggregate time of 2:08.36.
Valley Striders ladies were third in the team standings while Pudsey Pacers ladies put out a strong team and finished seventh in 2:21.49.
Meanwhile, the Eccleshill Road Runners trio of Claire Elener, Sophie Withnall and Lindsey Winter clocked up a flat 2:35.00, well ahead of Dewsbury Road Runners but behind Rothwell (2:29.29) to finish 13th out of 21 teams.
Leeds City AC won the men’s team event in 1:36.45. Bingley Harriers and Spenborough & District AC were cat and mouse but Bingley had the edge to finish eighth in 1:48.55.
