BAILDON B maintained their unbeaten record and extended their lead at the top of Bradford League Division Four following their derby with second-placed Baildon C.

Steve Crossland and John Atkinson have been a formidable duo this season for the B team and were both impressive again to keep Baildon B on course for the title.

The latter led 2-0 and 4-3 with the C team trio of John Jennison, Shirley Toulmin and Jerry Harhawy all beating Richard Stanley, but they all drew a blank against Crossland and Atkinson, who both dropped only one game in winning three each as the B team eased to a 6-4 victory.

In Division Two, Chris Sanderson, of Yeadon B, is another consistent performer and guided his team to victory in a tight contest against Hermits D.

The visitors led three times as Paul Mckrieth and Ian Warner both won two but Sanderson took his tally for the season to 25 out of 30 with an impressive treble.

Derek Greenwood and Martin Ashworth both overcame Maurice Biott to put Yeadon 5-4 ahead and, in a titanic deciding doubles, Sanderson and Greenwood came from 2-1 down to pip Mckrieth and Warner 11-9 in the fifth game for a 6-4 success.
