Three boys from Greengates took part in a recent Quest Taekwondo event held at Richard Dunn sports centre, which attracted more than 500 participants from all over the country.
Cameron Chapman did extremely well in his first competition. The beginner faced a blue-belt and won by two points.
Jason Mann isn’t new to competing but had to have time out from training due to suffering a broken arm just before Christmas. He had two matches, winning the first 13-1 before picking up an injury in his second which forced the match to be stopped.
Gary Watt was also a first-time competitor and was up against a competitor who was one grade away from a black belt. He lost by only two points after a fantastic display.
Also three students attend Greengates Primary School.
