Bradford’s Scott Waites lived up to his second seeding today in the British Darts Organisation World Championship.
Last season’s World Masters winner was always in charge during his 3-1 victory over Scott Boulton at Frimley Green.
Waites also had a 156 checkout – the highest at Lakeside so far in 2012.
However, there was no joy for Bradford’s former winner John ‘Boy’ Walton, the seventh seed losing 3-1 to Martin Atkins, while Silsden’s Garry Thompson fell to 12th-seeded debutant Paul Jennings by the same score.
Jennings’ highlight was hitting a bull to move into the lead.
