There will be five representatives from the Bradford area in the Great Britain squad at the Special Olympics World Summer Games.
Queensbury’s James Horsefall will be seeking success in basketball, Menston’s Benjamin Horner is going for glory in golf, while Shipley’s Nigel Halliday, who will be overseen by coach Kelly Moore from Windhill, will be hoping to power his way to victory in weightlifting, while the district will also be represented by bowler Robert Burnett.
The event is the largest multi-sport competition in the world this year, and will be held in Athens between June 25 and July 4.
The five locals will be joined by 153 other athletes and 57 further volunteer coaches in the Great Britain delegation.
