Bradford Judo Club won two gold medals and three silvers at the Ipswich Open.

Competing against fighters from across the UK and Europe, they came up trumps as Mick Bowmer led the way.

He claimed gold medals in the seniors and masters competitions, winning the final in the latter event in just six seconds! Debbie Mullen strangled her way to a silver medal, beating a world medallist on the way, while Duncan Campbell also picked up silver in the under-100kg division.

Alan Kirk, competing in only his second competition, achieved silver in the over-90kg weight category for brown belt and under.

The team are now preparing for the Irish Open in April and then the World Championships in June, which take place in Stuttgart, Germany.

If you are interested in joining the club, they train at Planet Fitness Mills on Halifax Road in Bradford. Training times are Wednesdays (7-8pm) and Saturdays (noon to 1pm).
