SAM Turner overcome her nerves to gain a bronze medal in her first competition.
She performed well overall in the girls' under-16 foil event at the Yorkshire Youth League finals in Wakefield, losing her semi-final to the eventual winner.
Fellow Titus Salt School Fencing Club member Jordan Garcia is an older hand, and also took bronze in what was the club's first double-medal haul, while Sam Amos also took a bronze in the boys' under-14 sabre to add to his podium placings.
Jordan and Sam Turner started fencing at the after-school club, firstly with plastic kit, under the guidance of Tim Noble.
Titus Salt Fencing Club is a satellite club for Bradford Fencing club, where Sam Amos, practices his sabre technique each week.
Fencers new and old are welcome at Thornton Recreation Centre on Tuesday evenings.
The next beginners' course will be starting next month.
