THREE kickboxers who train at Junior Jam in Wyke and Calder Thai Boxing Academy in Halifax, have returned from Italy with six World Championship gold medals, as well as two silvers and two bronzes.

Raeece Hussain did not let the fact that he won two gold medals and a silver in Italy last year put him off when he went back to Carrara.

In fact, the 14-year-old from Clayton returned from the World Traditional Karate Kickboxing Association (WTKA) Unified World Championships with three gold medals and two silvers.

Not only did he win gold in the under-50kg Muay Thai and K1 categories, but he moved up a weight to win gold in the under-52kg K1 and silver in the under-54kg Muay Thai.

Clubmates Harvey and Bradley Boothman, brothers from Brighouse, won three golds, a silver and and two bronzes between them.

Harvey, ten, took gold in Muay Thai and K1 in his own weight division, the under-24kg, and then moved up a weight category to win gold in Muay Thai and silver in K1 at under-26kg.

Bradley, 12, was in the under-34kg category and won bronzes at K1 and Muay Thai.

The trio have been kickboxing for three and a half years and train five times a week at Junior Jam in Wyke, where they practice K1, and Calder Thai Boxing Academy in Halifax, where they practice Muay Thai.
