BRADFORD Bulldogs have had 21 of their players selected to either represent their country, the Northern Conference or both.

Max Gibson and Logan Jean Jacques have been named in the England under-13 squad, while Harrison Walker, Michael Colbourne and Logan Roberts are in the England under-15 party.

The players chosen for Northern Conference squads are – Under-11s: Daragh Spawforth, Jake Bedford, Rhys Edwards, Kai Hathaway, Callum Preston. Under-13s: Matthew Cross, Kieran Lucas, Max Gibson, Logan Jean Jacques. Under-15s: Jordan Griffin, Harrison Walker, Alex Mitchell, Alex Lutwyche, Michael Colbourne, Logan Roberts, Dylan Harcourt. Under-17s: Alex Marsden, Oscar Wilding, Curtis Warburton, Jacob Lutwyche, Luke Watson.

In addition, under-15s player Harry Clegg has been selected to represent his country at Special Hockey International (SHI), an annual team tournament involving Canada, the United States and Europe played by adults and children with autism or learning difficulties.

Clegg will be playing as a member of the Special People on Ice (SPICE) Jets Team A. SPICE will be sending two teams to Canada this year, with Team A being made up of under-20, under-18 and under-15 players from Great Britain.

Bulldogs coach Andy Brown said: "I am, as always, proud of the numbers that are chosen from our small club to represent England and the North.

"The players have succeeded through hard work and determination. I know that the players, and those who have been recently selected for the GB team, will do Bradford proud."

Bradford Ice Arena has a beginners' stick-and-puck session every Wednesday (5.30-6.15pm). Any child aged six and upwards with good skating ability can join the training sessions.
