WASHBURN VALLEY: The heaviest fish caught during the week ending June 3 was a 6lb rainbow trout by P Stoker using orange fritz. The heaviest caught during the week ending June 10 was a 7lb 12oz rainbow trout by Gavin Jack using invictor. Fewston & Swinsty: All waters are full and overflowing again. May fly are hatching and blowing over the surface but trout are still taking nymph just below the surface. Montana and GRHE are accounting for many fish. Thruscross: There has been lots of brown trout activity, taking flies from beneath overhanging willows. Catch details (week ending June 3) – Day ticket: Fewston 35, Swinsty 7; total fish caught: Fewston 259, Swinsty 17; average per rod: Fewston 7.4, Swinsty 2.5. BRADFORD No1 AA: Last weekend’s committee match at Ripon was won by Eric Thomas with 8lb 1oz, followed by Andy Holmes with 5lb 12oz and Simon Freer with 4lb 4oz. The coarse river season opens on Saturday, with the Calder and Swale being worth a visit for chub. Members are reminded that Cowthorpe on the River Nidd will be closed on Sunday for a members’ match, as will Roecliffe on the River Ure for an outside booking. Next Saturday is the first of this year’s junior matches at Raskelf Lake. Entry is free for members and anybody wishing to fish should contact Simon on 01274-571175. Chellow Dene is fishing very well for roach and chub on waggler and maggot.

BRADFORD SEA AC: Sunday’s trip to Rhyl was a great success, with five anglers catching over 300 fish. First with 346 points was Dave Kitchingman, who landed 146. Ben Kitchingman was second with 251 points, including a caught-and-released tope of 20lb 6oz. Third with 150 points was Martin Catley. There were 12 different species of fish caught but the highlight must go to Terry Gledhill, who caught and released two tope – one of 37lb and another of 38lb, plus a thornback ray of 5lb. Our next meeting is on Tuesday at the New Inn, East Bierley, starting at 8pm. New members will be made very welcome.

LISTERHILLS AA: Weights were close in Sunday’s open match on the canal: 1 N Mannion 1lb 14oz, 2 M Moss 1lb 13oz, 3 G Kitchen 1lb 12oz, 4 G Reeday 1lb 11oz. The draw for Saturday’s open match at Rodley is at 9am by the bridge. Call 07984-597328 for full details. The next members’ match at Pilley’s Dam is on Sunday, July 1. BINGLEY AC: Results of Sunday’s match at Coppice Pond: 1 I Ward 8lb 5oz, 2 J Clark 2lb 8oz, 3 C Dine 2lb 2oz. Rivers should be in good condition for the start of the coarse season on Saturday. There will be a working party at Settler Dam next Thursday and Sunnydale Reservoir on Thursday, June 28, both starting at 5pm. Any members willing to attend will be welcome.
