Catch details for week ending May 22 – Day ticket: Fewston 23, Swinsty 8, Thruscross (catch & return) 0. Total fish caught: Fewston 75, Swinsty 29, Thruscross 0. Average per road: Fewston 3.3, Swinsty 3.6, Thruscross 0. The heaviest fish caught was a 4lb 2oz rainbow trout by Bob Smith, using Dawson’s Olive. Fewston and Swinsty: A good week despite the weather, anglers reverting to lures to tempt fish from deeper waters. Ace of Spades and Viva have been popular. Thruscross: Very difficult this week with high winds and heavy rain putting anglers off fishing. Monthly catch details ending May 22 - Day ticket: Fewston 135, Swinsty 36, Thruscross (catch & return) 5. Total fish caught: Fewston 510, Swinsty 144, Thruscross 22. Average per rod: Fewston 3.8, Swinsty 4.0, Thruscross 4.4. The heaviest fish caught was a 8lb 5oz rainbow trout by John Passlow using Minki.

Great Horton AC

Result of Sunday’s match at Poppleton Horseshoe Lake: 1 O Hudspith 26lb 3oz (all silver fish), 2 P Corfield 22lb (carp and silver fish), 3 P Weston 14lb 8½oz (carp and silver fish), 4 M Lawson 9lb 1½oz (carp and silver fish). The extremely windy conditions made it very difficult to fish but everyone caught on the day.

Bradford No1 AA

Last Sunday’s members’ match at Rawcliffe Bridge on the Aire and Calder Canal was won by Colin Hardy with 6lbs of roach. Second was Andy Jacques with 4lbs 8oz and third was Pete Vickerman with 3lbs 15oz. The next members’ match is on June 19 at Cowthorpe. Tickets are available from Tackle 2U, Bradford, and Simon on 01274- 571175. Members are reminded there is to be no fishing on the lake or river at Thorpe Underwood after May 31. Knotford Lagoon is continuing to fish well for carp so should be worth a visit this coming weekend.

Listerhills AA

The draw for tomorrow’s open match on the canal at Rodley is at 9am by the bridge. The evening match at Pilley’s Dam was won by E Harrison with 7lb 4oz, which included a pike and a tench. The draw for next Tuesday’s match is at 5.45pm. There may be a change of venue for the match on Sunday, June 5. Prolonged high winds have handicapped fishing but a few good catches have been made. Local angler C Green has been successful over the last two weeks in short sessions at Pilley’s Dam, catching several pike to just over 11lb, while S Gregory had a good catch at Rodley, comprising mostly perch.

Bingley AC

The match at Coppice Pond this Sunday was a very wet and extremely windy one. Despite that, carp, tench and bream were showing in the match. Result – 1 S Hurd: 35lb 15oz, 2 G Kaywowski 21lb 2oz, 3 A Newman 13lb 14oz, 4 M Pickard 10lb 13oz.

Bradford & District Sea AC

Our last trip to Whitby had to be cancelled because of bad weather. The next one is to Rhyl on Wednesday, June 8. There are three places left on this trip, which is going to be fishing for Tope among other species. So if anyone wishes to go, members or non-members, ring Dave on 07711-987833 to book your place. The next general meeting is on Tuesday, June 19 (8pm) in the New Inn, East Bierley.
