Fourteen-year-old Michael Jones is making a big splash in British diving and will round off a successful month by competing against World Champion Tom Daley at Sheffield this weekend.
The Thackley youngster will dive in the ASA British National Senior Championships in Sheffield in the springboard and platform events.
He will compete against Daley and fellow Olympians Peter Waterfield and Blake Aldridge.
In the recent ASA National Junior Elites Championship in Leeds, Michael struck gold in the platform in the preliminaries and second in the final for his age group.
A member of Bradford Esprit Diving club, he trains at Shipley, Nab Wood and Leeds, 19 hours a week, six days a week.
A pupil at St Mary’s School, Menston, the school offer fantastic support, allowing him to train early mornings.
Michael is currently in the England Talent Diving Programme and travels the length and breadth of the country competing.
