Pudsey B kept their Division Four promotion hopes alive with a crucial home victory over fellow promotion-chasers Fastbats F.

Once again it was John Ainley who was the inspiration for Pudsey, logging three more singles as he dragged the home side back from 3-1 down to sneak a 6-4 verdict.

Maurice Wrigley and Kingsley Smith added one each and the doubles success enabled Pudsey to move into third place and set up a promotion decider against second-placed Hermits D in the last week of the season.

In Division Five, Hermits H secured the runners-up spot behind champions Hermits F with a 6-4 success at Unity E, Joe Jonas, Lee Boyd and Andy Stead all winning two.

The two Division Four promotion rivals, Pudsey and Hermits D, will also meet in the Tony Theo-bould Trophy next Wednesday at Hermits.
