The Bradford Table Tennis League season is entering the final stretch and every set won is vital in the race for promotion.

In Division Four, Unity D are well clear at the top but three teams are chasing the runners-up spot, and two of them were in opposition last week.

Hermits E are currently second but they missed an opportunity to move further ahead when they were beaten by third-placed Fastbats F.

Terry Miller led the experienced Fastbats trio to victory with an unbeaten display, while Jim Illingworth added a couple.

The match was in the balance at 5-3 when Allan Jeffery pipped Steve Mills in five games to seal the win for Fastbats.

Hermits D are also in the running and they made up ground on their rivals with a thumping 9-1 success against bottom team Fastbats G, Kath Manogue and Peter Worger were both unbeaten while Tom Moran clocked up two.

In the Yorkshire League, Bradford Veterans' 4 enjoyed a successful trip to basement team Ryedale in Division Three and they moved into joint third place following an 8-2 victory.

Chris Town and Helen Shields both took three singles and also the doubles, while Tom Sampson added one.
