Bradford Maroons had a week of mixed fortunes with two local victories but a defeat in Liverpool.
They finally got the better of Rawthorpe in the Leeds & District Cup with a 90-81 overtime verdict, before beating Mandela Warriors 63-58 in the Leeds & District Premier League.
But they had to travel to face Sefton Stars in EBL Division Three North with a depleted seven-man squad and lost 98-73.
The Maroons were in contention until the halfway point, when they were just 11 points adrift, but fell away in the third quarter.
Top scorers for Bradford were brothers Dut and Reuben Malek with 23 and 18 points respectively, while Dion Irish added 17.
Sunday’s scheduled home fixture against Loughborough Cardinals has been postponed due to the midlanders’ National Tropy semi-final against Bradford Dragons.
Next up for the Maroons will be an EBL trip on February 7 to City of Nottingham Tribe, who are just above them in the table.
