The next general meeting will be at Girlington Conservative Club next Tuesday (8pm). As members know, this is our annual Christmas get-together, with a giant raffle and buffet. Please remember to bring a raffle prize if you want a raffle ticket. Wives, girlfriends and boyfriends are welcome. We would like as many members as possible to attend this meeting, and new members are always welcome to swell the ranks for 2010.

A report from Richard Ward, the skipper of “Shy Torque 3” from Whitby, is that one of our members, Rob Wadsworth, has won the Whitby Angling Festival with a 9lb 6oz cod. That brought him £1,000, plus £50 for the heaviest fish on the day. He was fishing aboard “Shy Torque 3”. Our congratulations go to Rob.
