THE HARROGATE Swimming Club Janus Graded Meet at the Hydro saw City of Bradford’s swimmers win a plethora of medals.

Outstanding performances and gold medals in the A Grade meet went to the following swimmers: Katie Wiles (2), Freddy Dean (2), Keira Hinchcliffe and Evie Hobson.

A grade silver medals went to: Keira Hinchcliffe (3), Maya Griffiths (2), Freddy Dean (2), George Smith, Joshua Jones, Samuel Akers, Jasmine Shay, Holly Vasey.

Bringing up the rear with bronze A grade medals were: Jasmine Shay (2), Louie Dove, Holly Vasey, Oscar Hobson, Kiera Hinchcliffe, Hannah Carney, Freddy Dean and Jakub Marszewski.

In total City had a pleasing 27 medals in total at this level.

At B grade, Niamh O’Brien, Hannah Carney, Joshua Jones and Jakub Marszewski were all on top of the podium.

Followed up by silver positions for Tyler Bower (2), Holly Vasey, Joshua Taylor, Hannah Carney, George Varley and Jakub Marszewski and bronze for Joshua Taylor (2), Abigail Naylor (2), Hannah Carney (2), Rose Lever, Amelia Fullerton and Jakub Marszewski.

The meet was a good introduction to competitive action for some of City’s emerging swimmers and produced a host of personal best times and Yorkshire qualifying times.

All of the above swimmers train with Leisure Services Aquatic competition programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
