* Yorkshire Veterans travelled to Bristol to take part in the Western Masters as Phil Cawser had another successful weekend. He took the 60s Doubles title on the first day, partnered by Simon Heaps from Cheshire. They were 3-0 winners in the final against Tony Clayton and Brian Garraway from Dorset. Helen Shields was also a doubles winner on day one as she took the Ladies 60s title with her partner Jan Johns from Cheshire. They won 3-0 in the final against Carol Eckersley from Sussex and Penny Perry from Devon.

Cawser was top seed in the 60s singles, in which he had a great win over No 2 seed Clayton but lost in the semi-final to Keith Williams from Lancashire.
