GARETH Green was at the double, as his two early frame wins paved the way for Bradford's No 1 snooker side to record a vital 4-2 victory over Sheffield No 1 at Undercliffe Cricket Club in Division One of the Yorkshire Inter District League.

Green won both of his frames against Joe Markie, with the second including a fine clearance of 41.

His brother Anthony was not at his usual best and he struggled against James Dabell. The Sheffield man made a break of 43 to level the match after two hard-fought frames.

Josh Walker enjoyed some good fortune throughout his two frames but he came out a deserved winner. He made a break of 45 in his second frame, which clinched the victory.

The team remain second, three points behind Sheffield No 2, but they have a game in hand. With only three games left to play this season, it could be a tense finish.

The semi-finals of the Bradford Snooker Championships have now been drawn and will both be played on Thursday, April 19, at Great Horton Cons, with a start time of 7:30pm.

Four-time champion Gareth Green will face Bradford teammate Walker and Stefan Risidi will take on Lewis Walsh. The final will be played at the same venue on Saturday, April 21.

The Bradford Pairs final featuring Wayne Cooper and Kevin Firth against Mark Slater and Jason Murgatroyd has now been fixed up and will be played on Saturday, May 5, again at Great Horton Cons.
