CITY of Bradford duo Hermione Roe and Archie Dunne headed to Ponds Forge in Sheffield to compete in the prestigious Swim England Winter National Championships which incorporated the Commonwealth Games trials.
Both produced outstanding personal bests to not only improve their rankings but also break club records.
Roe finished as the fastest 12-year-old in both the 50 metres and 100m breaststroke events in times of 34.57sec and 1min 15.44sec respectively. Her time in the longer event was a new 11-12 years' club record.
Dunne smashed the 50m freestyle 13-14 years' club record, and also the open-age group record which had stood since 2009, in 24.91 to finish as the fastest 14-year-old in his event.
Both swimmers train with Bradford Council's Leisure Services Aquatic Competition Programme under the guidance of senior coach Andy Pearce and development coach Sarah Fisher.
