CITY of Bradford Swimming Club ace Hermione Roe set three club records on the way to five victories at the prestigious City of Sheffield Premier Long Course Meet at Ponds Forge.

Top clubs competing included Loughborough University and Plymouth Leander but that did not stop the youngster from winning the girls' 11 years 200 metres freestyle, 100m and 200m breaststroke, 200m individual medley and 100m butterfly.

Roe's times of 1min 17.28sec in the 100m breaststroke and 2min 48.45sec in the 200m event were both new club records, as was her 35.12sec in the 14 years and under 50m breaststroke. She also won a silver in the 100m freestyle.

Swimming as a 13-year old, Archie Minto claimed gold in the 100m butterfly, was fifth in the 200m butterfly and had top-20 placings in the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

City's only other top-ten finisher was 12-year-old Sophia Basaraba, who was seventh in the 200m backstroke and also had a top-20 finish in the 100m backstroke.

Roe was not the only member to break a City of Bradford club record, with 14-year-old Archie Dunne clocking 26.37sec in the 50m freestyle open event.

City's swimmers were also chasing qualifying times for future meets and several posted best times.

All of the swimmers train with Bradford Aquatics' competition programme under the guidance of Sarah Fisher and Andy Pearce.
