Bradford Dragons have captured the signature of local player Nathan Dacres, securing his transfer from England Basketball League Division One rivals Leicester Warriors.

The signing was made just before the transfer deadline at the end of the month and Dragons chairman Stuart Culliford said: “We have been interested in Nathan for a while as we are keen to sign more local players.

“As we are in the second half of the season and still battling for the top spot, it was crucial we added another big man to cover the centre position.

“When we heard Nathan was available we snapped him up as soon as possible. We are ecstatic to have him in the squad for tomorrow’s game.”

Dacres will make his debut in the crunch West Yorkshire derby at home to Leeds tomorrow evening (6.15pm) at Bradford College’s Trinity Green sports hall.

Dragons sit healthily-placed in third position with ten wins and four losses, while Leeds are in seventh.
