The top two teams in Division Five of the Bradford Table Tennis League went head to head and Baildon B moved to the summit for the the first time this season after ending the 100 per cent record of Hermits I.
The Hermits side had won 16 matches in a row but Baildon overtook them by just two sets following their 8-2 success.
The scoreline was a little harsh on Hermits as five of the ten sets went to a close deciding game, and Baildon won four of them.
Richard Stanley led the way for Baildon with three singles, with John Atkinson and Steve Crossland winning two each. Both sides will now be striving for as many sets as possible in their remaining matches.
In Division Four, Baildon A recently surrendered their unbeaten record to second-placed Fastbats D, and they followed that with a draw at home to relegation-threatened Highdale D.
Bob Underwood proved to be a stumbling block for the home side as he won all his three singles for Highdale.
Allan Miles-Turner and Mark Jessop both defeated Chris Willey, and Baildon were indebted to Rod Willey and Peter Warner, who won two each and rescued a draw with the doubles.
