The north east and north west regions competed in Sheffield at the Northern Zonal Meet, and 13 City of Bradford Swimming Club members qualified for this high-level event.

The weekend produced two top-ten finishes and 18 top-twenty placings for the club.

James Dawson, swimming in the 17 and over 50 metres breaststroke, claimed seventh place in 30.83sec, which qualified him for the prestigious British Gas International Meet in Leeds early next month.

Also finishing seventh, in the girls' 14 years and under 50m breaststroke, was Jasmine Hanson.

She then went on to claim a top-20 finish in the 200m breaststroke.

Other top-20 finishers in the girls' events were Millie Foulds, Eva Chapman, Joanna Gledhill and Jovanna Lugonja, while matching their achievements in the boys' events were Josh Zenner, Josh Walker, Freddy Hoban and Josh Holdsworth.

Other qualifiers were Harmonie Waterman, Azura Cairns-Poole, and Abigail Shuttleworth.

All these swimmers train with the Bradford Aquatics Competition Programme.
