NICK Powell would love Bobby Pointon to shine on the play-off stage like he did.
City fans are waiting eagerly to see if “one of their own” will be fit to feature in some way against Bolton tonight.
Pointon has missed the last five games with the ankle injury he suffered against Stevenage.
Powell leapt to fame as a teenager with a Wembley goal for Crewe when they beat Cheltenham in the 2012 League Two play-off final.
The 32-year-old wants to see someone in claret and amber seize the moment this time – and really hopes that it could be the local lad.
Powell said: “I think that's what play-off stages are for - to put people in the spotlight.
“I'm hoping someone in my team can do that and it'd be nice if it was Bobby, if he is available.
“I'd be unbelievably pleased for him because for a person that I've known for 10 months, he is the epitome of Bradford and I'd love him to do it.”

Powell is one of the elder statesmen in the City dressing room and almost looks upon Pointon, who is 10 years his junior, and his progress like a younger brother.
"I've been very open about my career,” he added. “I've had it, I've enjoyed it.
“Hopefully, obviously, there's more left, but I enjoy watching other people's careers flourish now.
“You see it from that point, when you see yours coming to an end. If that was for someone at Bradford, which I hope it is, because it means I don't have to do as much, it would be a lovely story.
“We all know what is at stake. It would be lovely for Bradford to do it as a team and be really nice to be part of that.
“We have to get over the line and hopefully we do, so it would be nice to be etched into Bradford's history.”
