NEILL Byrne has completed a loan move to Doncaster.
The Irish defender made 47 appearances in 18 months at Valley Parade, including 27 in their League Two promotion campaign.
But he has found opportunities this season strictly limited and played just eight games in the third tier – his last outing in the 3-0 defeat at Mansfield on New Year’s Day was his first league start since October.
Doncaster boss Grant McCann has been desperate to bring in reinforcements at centre half and is expected to throw Byrne straight into tomorrow’s home game against Leyton Orient.
Third-from-bottom Rovers visit City on Saturday but loan players are not allowed to face their parent clubs.
Byrne, whose Bantams contract is up in the summer, is Doncaster's sixth capture during the window. He is also the sixth departure from BD8.
