THE sight of Ed Duckworth with the whistle has been a good sign for City.

Preston-based referee Duckworth takes charge of the West Yorkshire derby tomorrow.

It will be the fifth time he has taken charge of a Bantams game – and they have won all four previously.

Duckworth, who began his career in the Lancashire Sunday League, was in the middle at the start of the season when City beat Luton 2-1 at Valley Parade.

Last term, he was officiating the 1-0 success over Swindon which kicked off the club record of 10 straight home victories.

And in 2023-24, he oversaw two City wins – 3-1 at Doncaster in Graham Alexander’s early days at the helm and then another home success against Gillingham.

So, will his presence extend to a fifth three points at the Accu Stadium tomorrow?
