CITY have used their free week to take a deeper dive into the first quarter of the season.

With the Lincoln game off tomorrow, the Bantams are not back in action until Tuesday against Everton under-21s in the Vertu Trophy.

The extra time on the training ground has allowed Graham Alexander and the coaching staff the chance to review the first couple of months with the squad and put a few tweaks into practice.

“You can give feedback on the analysis side of it but then you haven’t got the time to work on what you’ve just shown them,” said Alexander.

“Now we’ve got a period, a bit like in pre-season, where you can show them some analysis and then spend the next few days working on it.

“We’re going to give the players some feedback and take stock on what we’ve done already this season in the first quarter.

“We’re going to work on a couple of things we’ve identified and will try to improve them for when we go back into games in a week’s time.

“We’ve got to make anything that comes our way valuable and make it work for us. We just take what’s given and crack on.”

City have played 15 games – 11 of them in League One where they currently sit second a point behind Stevenage, who they face in a fortnight.

It will be 12 days since they last played in the comeback draw at Rotherham before they step out again at the University of Bradford Stadium.

“The players love playing the games and I love managing them,” added Alexander. “But we’re still going to get those games to play.

“I’m really glad we’ve got the EFL Trophy next Tuesday. Two whole weeks without a game would have been a long time.

“We can have little in-house games within the squad and put a few conditions on it just to give them problems to fix.

“The lads love playing, especially at Valley Parade, and we’re really looking forward to the next game there. But they have come up for breath a little bit after quite a frantic start.

“There’s no frustration from my side, it’s just working time.”
