HARROGATE have “payback” in mind as they plot another Bantams bashing.
The Sulphurites are gunning for a fourth win in five attempts against City on their own patch tomorrow.
They dished out a recent warning by beating then-leaders Doncaster in front of the Sky cameras – only to follow that up with a wretched 3-0 loss at Crewe last weekend.
Now boss Simon Weaver hopes to see a reaction when TV are back in north Yorkshire as City come to town.
He said: “The fans who travelled last week were absolutely magnificent. It’s payback time.
“We gave them a glimmer of hope against Doncaster in front of the cameras. It was a special night and then we plummeted back down to earth.
“We owe those supporters who travelled a real debt and we’ve got to perform.”
A much-changed Harrogate drew 1-1 with Liverpool under-21s in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy in midweek before bagging the bonus point on penalties.
“It’s good to come through the last two home games with positive results,” added Weaver.
“I thought the first 60 minutes we were a lot more like us as we were against Doncaster. It was a good response from last weekend’s poor showing at Crewe.
“We would like to have won it inside the 90 minutes but we did make lots of changes and that disrupted it. It was a good chance for some to stake a claim.”
A record home crowd of 3,905 witnessed Harrogate’s 3-0 win against City last season and they are anticipating another full house for the lunchtime showdown.
Weaver told the club website: “We’re expecting a good battle.
"They've got a lot of pedigree and know-how in their team, they're a big club and they will have high expectations because it’s Bradford City.
"But we are at the same level and we've got to battle it out to make our town proud.”
“It’s close enough to be a derby but we care about every single game.
“With the early kick-off, it’s a chance for people to enjoy their Saturday night properly – but that only happens if we perform.”
