ADAM Wilson has been called up for Kenya for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The winger has been named in the squad by Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat for next month’s matches against Burundi and reigning African champions Ivory Coast.

Clarke Oduor has previously been involved for Kenya but was subbed as a sub in his last appearance and subsequently criticised by Firat.

Wilson made 16 appearances last season but did not feature after coming on at Harrogate in March. He still has two years to go on the contract he signed when joining from TNS last August.

Wilson, who has a parent from Kenya, played four times for England under-18s while a youngster at Newcastle.
