WYCOMBE boss Matt Bloomfield conceded the League One side pulled off a “smash and grab” raid at Valley Parade.
Matt Butcher’s deflected finish in added time sunk the Bantams to end the Bristol Street Motors Trophy semi-final in the most dramatic circumstances.
Bloomfield captained Wycombe to play-off victory at Wembley in 2020 and will now lead them out in a final four years later.
But he admitted that his team had been second best.
Bloomfield, who marked exactly a year as manager with last night’s win, said: "You have to take the rough with the smooth in this game so nights like tonight you have to enjoy.
"I knew they would be more used to the pitch than us and we didn't perform to our levels but we defended well and came up with a great moment at the end.
"It's the stuff dreams are made of. I was into my 30s before I got to Wembley and managed to go twice so to now go as a manager, I feel extremely fortunate.”

Wycombe defender Luke Leahy was booked in bizarre circumstances.
He was shown the yellow card by referee Tom Reeves for wiping the ball dry on a steward's jacket before launching a long throw-in.
Larger-than-life former striker Adebayo Akinfenwa was among those to post congratulation messages on social media.
He wrote on X: "Wycombe do like a Wembley visit #OneMoreGame"
