CITY are not bothered who they face in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy semi-finals.

The Bantams are in the hat with three League One sides – Blackpool, Peterborough and Wycombe – in tonight’s draw.

But the underdog status does not faze Graham Alexander ahead of the club’s first appearance in the last four of the competition.

“Common sense would tell you the other teams want us,” he said.

“But we’re one step from Wembley and we want to get there.

“As we’ve done in the previous rounds, we'll take whoever we get.

“I’m not looking at anyone and saying I don’t fancy (playing) them. That’s a terrible mindset to be in.”

City have won all six of their Trophy ties to clock up £140,000 in prize money.

Alexander believes the impressive scalp of Derby at Pride Park in the round of 16 shows they can mix it with any of their potential opponents.

“It would give us belief and confidence that we can perform against a higher level.

“Derby approached that in the proper way. They wanted to win that game.

“It wasn’t a weakened team – we went there and beat a very good one. That gives us confidence going into the next round.

“I’ve always got an open mind. If you want to be successful, you’ve got to take on whoever’s right in front of you.

“We’ll give it our best shot against whichever team is drawn out the hat.

“But it’s three weeks away and we’ve got some big games before that we have to focus on. We still feel we have something to fight for in the league.

“We’ve enjoyed the Trophy so far and hopefully we’ll enjoy the next step.

"I think it's exciting. I love the competition for the opportunities it gives us at this level.

"It's the first time we've reached this round as a club so every credit to the players.

"We have changed the team a lot but we're trying to build a belief in this squad that we trust them."

The draw takes place from 6.15pm and is live on Sky Sports News. The numbers are: 1 Blackpool, 2 CITY, 3 Peterborough, 4 Wycombe.
