SAM Stubbs is in contention to be crowned Player of the Round for the Round of 16 of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
The defender put on a solid defensive display and crowned his performance with the match-winning header against Derby County at Pride Park on January 9, as City booked their place in the last-eight of the competition, where they will now face Doncaster Rovers next Tuesday.
Stubbs’ header was a cracker from Harry Chapman’s corner. He got the jump on his marker and Derby keeper Josh Vickers had no chance of stopping it, with City eventually winning the contest 1-0.
