Swansea have appointed Notts County boss Luke Williams as their new head coach.

Williams has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at the Sky Bet Championship club after deciding to leaving League Two County.

Swansea chairman Andy Coleman told the club website: "As I have said previously, we have undertaken a diligent and detailed process to find our next head coach.

"I have been fortunate to spend a lot of time with Luke recently.

"I have looked him in the eye and know that we can trust Luke to be a coach and leader who is aligned with our vision for Swansea City.

"He fits right into the mould of other talented and ambitious young managers who have succeeded here.

"I am confident our supporters will be excited by and proud of this Luke Williams-led Swansea City team."

Williams' appointment ends Swansea's month-long search to find a successor to Michael Duff.

Assistant Ryan Harley and first-team coach analyst George Lawtey have also made the move from Meadow Lane as part of Williams' coaching team.

The 43-year-old, who guided Notts County back into the Football League last season, takes charge for the first time in Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie at home to Morecambe.

Williams previously worked at Swansea - who are currently 16th in the Championship - in the 2021-22 season as part of Russell Martin's coaching staff.

Elsehwere in League Two, Salford have appointed Karl Robinson as their new head coach.

Robinson, the former Charlton, MK Dons and Oxford manager, takes over with Salford 21st in Sky Bet League Two and five points above the relegation zone.

Salford chief executive Nicky Butt told the club website: "We are delighted to welcome Karl to Salford as our new head coach.

"Throughout the interview and appointment process he impressed us with his wealth of knowledge and ability.

"Salford's ambition is to play as high up in the Football League as possible so when we entered the recruitment process we felt it was important for us to appoint someone with experience of managing at a higher level, and Karl's long-term vision for the club, drive and determination excited us."

Robinson succeeds Neil Wood, who was sacked last month after a run of eight league games without a win.

The 43-year-old's first game in charge will be at home to bottom-placed Forest Green on Saturday.
