FORMER Bradford City striker Danny Rowe has left his new club Macclesfield FC after only a month due to an underlying health condition.

The 33-year-old played the full 90 minutes for the side in their Cheshire Cup win over Sanbach United on October 31, but was then absent for their 1-0 win at Marske United in the Northern Premier League Premier Division four days later.

Macclesfield quashed any uncertainty by releasing a statement on their website yesterday, which said: "Macclesfield FC can confirm that striker Danny Rowe will be leaving the football club.

"After featuring against Sandbach United for a full 90 minutes, due to an underlying health condition, Danny felt it was the right decision to depart the football club.

"Everyone at Macclesfield FC would like to thank Danny for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future."

Rowe played 18 games for the Bantams in League Two in 2020-21, scoring five goals, including a dramatic last-gasp equaliser against Bolton at Valley Parade.
