CITY are not the only League Two club to have dispensed with their manager.

Gillingham this morning announced that Neil Harris has gone after just 20 over months in the job.

He had been there 24 days longer than Mark Hughes’ stint at the Bantams, which was ended last night.

The Gills are currently eighth, goal difference outside the play-offs.

City fans are unlikely to be too sympathetic for Harris, who was Millwall boss when they won the League One play-off final at Wembley in 2017.

Harris has never lost at Valley Parade – and enjoyed Gillingham’s stoppage-time equaliser in April.

“The fans really like me here because I’ve never lost,” he said afterwards.

“It was a great moment at the end because there were a few choice words towards my staff and players warming up.

“That’s what happens when you go to big grounds. It’s brilliant, you have to accept it and give a little bit back - and to have the last laugh is brilliant!”
