Bradford City AFC Women has today parted company with manager Nick Buxton, after just three competitive games in charge.
Chairman Qasim Akhtar said: “Despite a good result last weekend and irrespective of yesterday’s final result (a 5-0 defeat at Alnwick), we felt we needed to change the direction of the first team at club, and have taken the decision to part company with Nick.
“Sadly, sometimes things do not work out the way we want them to. We have a responsibility to this football club to ensure we do what is best for it, and moving in a different direction is the way forward for us.”
Assistant manager Daniel Solts and first team coach Gareth Davis will take interim charge of the first team, with further details of the manager’s role to be announced in due course.
Bradford City Women have said they would like to thank Buxton for his efforts in the role, and wish him the very best for the future.
