BULLS desperately hope London will be calling for Lee Gaskell in the tense run-in to the play-offs.

Gaskell was a big miss from Sunday’s home loss to York which has left their top-six ambitions still in the balance.

But Lee Greenwood believes that standing down the influential playmaker was the right move for the big tests ahead.

“Lee tweaked his hamstring and was struggling to sprint,” he said.

“We didn’t think it would be an issue but it’s only minor. If that had been the last game of the season, we would probably have risked it.

“The chances were Lee could have played and then been out for the season.

“It was the right call not to play and hopefully he’s okay for London now. We’ll need him.

“I’m hoping we’ll get a few bodies back because we were a bit light and disjointed with people moving positions.”

Bulls are banking on Huddersfield to give the green light for Fenton Rogers to face the Broncos, who have moved a point ahead in fourth.

He was ruled out on Sunday through concussion protocol. Jayden Myers is also available following his one-game ban.

But winger Ben Blackmore remains a doubt - much to Greenwood’s frustration.

“Nothing’s changed. One day he’s fine, the next day he’s not.

“We can’t take the risk of just naming him in the team either for him not to make the start line or go in tackle one.

“Once he’s been all right for a few days continuously and got a full week’s training, then you can be fairly confident of putting him in there.

“Until that changes, we’re obviously struggling. Hopefully he can train this week and we can have him as an option.

“You’re going to miss Lee Gaskell when he doesn’t play.

“You’re going to miss Ben Blackmore for his yardage carries, you’re going to miss James Segeyaro when he’s not playing at nine.

“We’ve started missing influential players and those who have come in have done their absolute best. I’m not going to be critical of individuals but it makes a difference.”
