SCOTT Banks has suffered a season-ending injury playing in Germany.
The former City loanee was making only his third sub appearance for St Pauli, where he had signed to spend the season from parent club Crystal Palace.
But he tore the ACL in his right knee while trying to stop a late counter in the game at Eintracht Braunschweig on Friday evening.
Banks was able to hobble off with assistance after the 85th minute incident but tests the following day confirmed the severity of his injury.
It is nightmare news for the 21-year-old who was a popular figure at Valley Parade last season, making 36 appearances and finishing second top scorer with six goals.
Scott #Banks hat sich im Spiel gegen Eintracht Braunschweig am Freitag (1.9.) einen Riss des vorderen Kreuzbandes im rechten Knie zugezogen.
