Bradford Bulls have confirmed that David Foggin-Johnston will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this season to join Keighley Cougars on a two-year deal.

The popular winger, who joined the club ahead of the 2019 season, said: “What a journey it has been and it’s definitely an emotional but warming end of an era.

"To to make it clear I really found myself at home here but I feel the time is right for a change of environment for me and to have a fresh challenge elsewhere.

“I have made some incredible relationships with the staff, players, sponsors and supporters here and they are friendships that will last a lifetime.

"I also played in some massive games and played with and against some legends.

“To everyone who has supported me, I cannot thank you enough.

"We have a really important couple of months left and I will give my everything to end my time here on a high. Wolf Out!”

Regarding his decision to join Cougars, Foggin-Johnston told their website: "I’m really excited for this new chapter in my career.

"I can’t wait to get started if I am honest and I am looking forward to seeing the new squad that’s being assembled and have full trust that it will be strong and competitive.

“I’ve found my chances somewhat limited this year but my attitude and demeanour has always been positive and I have wanted to show my worth.

"From my talks with the club, I feel Keighley will give me the chance to play consistent week in, week out rugby.

“I am looking forward to getting stuck in at Cougar Park and I can’t wait to meet the fans.

"I have been on the receiving end of the Keighley fans' hostility a few times and I can’t wait to see you all with a smile on my face.”

Interim Bulls head coach Lee Greenwood said: “Good luck to Dee.

"As part of all renewals and retentions some extend early and some we wait a bit longer.

"In the meantime, if players can sort themselves out with contracts and if they accept those, then we wish them all the best, and that is what David Foggin-Johnston has done.

“He is a proven Championship winger, who in recent weeks has found chances hard to come by since we brought Jorge [Taufua] in.

"But he has handled himself well and he will have a part to play before he leaves at the end of the season.”

And Cougars' director of rugby, Jake Webster, said: “Dee is a player of flair and maximum effort who has a lot to offer to a team.

"He always gives 100 per cent, bats above his weight, and I have great memories of playing with him at Bradford in 2019.

"His attitude really stood out to me and I enjoyed my time with him.

"When we became aware of Dee’s availability, he was someone we wanted to speak to straight away and I am pleased to get this deal for the next two years over the line.”
