INTERIM Bulls head coach Lee Greenwood has praised George Flanagan upon his return to the team, but insisted selection is horses for courses.

The veteran hooker had only played in one of the previous eight games before returning against Barrow, and was superb in the win at Batley last time out.

And with James Segeyaro now ruled out for the season, more opportunities may come his way.

Greenwood said: “George has always been there and trained hard, even when he’s not been playing.

“He’s been selected for these last couple of games to help us get a result and a good performance.

“That’s what we’ll continue to do each week, and some will drop out and some will come in.

“George did a decent job helping the team win at Batley, but the thought process behind it all is that it’s on us to decide which players will give us the best chance of a result each week.”

Greenwood’s side are involved in a riveting play-off battle, and know they must continue winning to keep the chasing pack of Halifax, London and Widnes at bay, as well as trying to overtake Sheffield and Batley for a top-four berth to secure a home knockout tie.

He said: “That fight is certainly helping to improve us, and we’re enjoying being involved in that race,

“It’s certainly better than having nothing to play for, and that goes for those teams towards the bottom too.

“There’ll be plenty of twists and turns yet to come this season I’m sure.”
